The dissertation focuses on the ambiguity determinations (complete lexical hononyms(СLH) and polysemantic words). Synthesis of CLH and polysemantic words definitions were discussed from the point of view of the modern lexicology and the information theory. The differentiation informationaly correlation criterion (ICC) was founded, the 5 necessary compositions of the criterion use were determined. Using of the ICC in the practice of the CLH and polysemantic words) and the determination the ambiguity's potentialities for creating the figurativeness were determined in the thesis
