The object - the process of the development of senior pupils' foreign language skills on the basis of learning educational courses in English. The purpose - to work out the methods of the development of senior pupils' foreign language skills in the process of learning educational courses in English. The methods of research: theoretical, empirical. Theoretical results and novelty: the components of the content of teaching foreign language skills while learning educational courses were determined for the first time; didactic and methodological principles of their development in senior pupils were grounded; the criterial apparatus of diagnosis of the level of their development in the process of learning educational courses was worked out; the notion "integrative skills" which are developed in the process of learning educational courses is clarified. Practical results: an experimental educational textbook was developed "Histories of ancient civilizations". It was introduced into secondary schools and higher educational establishments with pedagogical inclination. Efficiency of introduction is high. The sphere (field) of usage - pedagogical, secondary educational establishments, higher pedagogical educational establishments.
