Babich A. Fault location methods for local area networks and their segments

The Ph.D. thesis is dedicated to solving tasks of laboriousness decreasing, time costs reducing and efficiency increasing for procedure of network fault location and diagnosis formulation due to providing appropriate depth of fault location. In the Ph.D. thesis the structural method of explicit addressable faults location has been proposed. It provides linear reducing of time costs for diagnosis formulation and is characterized by minimal hardware costs. The methods of explicit and implicit network faults location have been improved due to usage of design of experiments theory. It allows to increase efficiency of procedure of diagnosis formulation. The method of separation of faults of applied software from network faults has been proposed for the first time. It differs from known ones by usage of correlation analysis for processing of data of diagnostical experiment and it allows to reduce time costs for fault location and to increase efficiency of procedure of diagnosis formulation. The methodology of network faults location, which is based on step-by-step applying of developed methods of explicit addressable, explicit and implicit faults location and which provides high efficiency of procedure of diagnosis formulation due to usage of complete fault model of LAN as an object of diagnosing, has been proposed.
