Koshak K. Ukrainian television programs for children and youth: concept basis

The thesis is for the first time devoted to the research of domestic children and youth television's condition using examples of national, interregional and local channels' work; examined the conceptual basis of TV programs for children and youth audience taking into account Ukrainian modern broadcasting peculiarities. Taking into consideration the fact that the very topic wasn't much research studied concerning national journalism, the theoretical experience of the foreign researches was used in the thesis. TV traditions, principles, functions, psychological, sociometry aspects of domestic broadcasting for the young audience were viewed in the context of the Ukrainian modern broadcasting. The typological characteristic and genre features of existing programs were developed. More than 100 television programs for children which were in the air of 43 domestic channels were collected and analyzed by the author. The television production for children according to their age peculiar properties creation method was carried out, which could be used in the work of script writers, journalists, editors, TV cameraman and the directors of the children's studios.
