Object - the memoirs by P.V. Annenkov in a context of development of the Russian literature of second half ХІХ century; goal - to analyse memoirs by P.V. Annenkov, having used a wide literary context to define their genre originality, features of evolution and a creative method of the memoirist; methods - biographic, structural, genetic, rather-typological; novelty - the complete analysis of an ideologically-art originality memoirs by P.V. Annenkov in view of modern approaches to an estimation of memoirs not only as documentary sources, but also as texts which have aesthetic value for the first time is executed; it is investigated historical memoirs by P.V. Annenkov; results - usage of materials of the dissertation by Russian literature historians, teachers of philological faculties in the course of the history of the Russian literature of second half ХІХ century and in special courses and special seminars; specialty - Russian literature.
