Midzyn R. Stressing the Nouns in Lesya Ukrainka's poetry.

The dissertation highlights the peculiarities of stressing noun in Lesya Ukrainka's poetry reveals the principal accentual types as well as compares the stressing of nouns and their grammatical forms with the accentual norms of the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century and with the modern literary norm of the Ukrainian language. The author has investigated the peculiarities of functioning the stress as a stylistic device and as a component of the information and rhythmical structure of the poetess' language. The present research has traced the process of the unification of the stress in accentual types defined the historical stress and elucidated variant as well as the author's accentuation. For the purpose the accentual analysis has been carried out using the descriptive, contrastive-comparative and comparative-historical methods of investigation.
