Ol'khovetskiy S. Psychological sources and ways of overcoming fears at the adolescent and junior youth age

The thesis focuses on the problem of psychological prerequisites causing fears at the adolescent and young age and methods of dealing with them. Scrutinized are the specific features of fears' occurrence at the adolescent and youth age, and factors contributing to such fears were elicited in the target audience. Qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the aforementioned fears are described. Correlation between the level of fear and the source it origins from was elucidated. The author developed and justified the set of techniques that are intended for psycho-correction of such fears at the adolescent and young age. Underlying to such system of corrective techniques are the methods of actualization of the creative potential of individual's psychics, creative verbalization, and visualization of fears. The approach involves strong feelings of the subject. The evidence was obtained that the developed methods are effective in terms of relieving fears in school students. The experiential data and theinference made allowed the author to develop technical recommendations for educators and practical psychologists.
