Object of study. Regularities of imazethapyr behavior in environmental objects and risk of its overall influence on workers in soil-and-climatic conditions of Ukraine. Purpose. Hygienic assessment and scientific substantiation of regulations for safe application of herbicides Pivot, Patriot, DT-03, and MAC of their active ingredient imazethapyr in soil on the basis of combined natural and experimental studies of imazethapyr behaviour in environmental objects and determination of potential risk of adverse effect on population health and workers. Methods. Laboratory and full-scale hygienic experiments, toxicological, sanitary-chemical, chemical and analytical, sanitary-microbiological, biochemical methods, analysis of variance, correlation analysis, regression procedure, mathematical modeling. Theoretical and practical results. MAC of imazethapyr in soil, hygienic regulations and safe application instructions for herbicides Pivot, Patriot, DT-03 have been substantiated. Quantitative methods of imazethapyr residues determination in air of a working zone, atmospheric air, soil, water and foodstuffs have been developed. Novelty. For the first time in Ukraine, toxic properties of new herbicide DT-03 have been studied and the comparative toxicological and hygienic assessment of formulations Pivot, Patriot on the basis of imazethapyr has been given. Regularities of imazethapyr behavior in adjacent environment in different soil-and-climatic conditions, and peculiarities of its influence on enzymatic activity and microbiocenosis of soil have been established. Working conditions under application of formulations on the basis of imazethapyr have been studied, and prognosis of potential risk for workers has been given. Regularities of imazethapyr behavior in agrocoenosis objects under application of studied formulations have been established. Quantitative methods for the ingredient determination in environmental objects and foodstuffs have been developed. Scope of use. Medicine, agriculture.
