Seroshtan S. The topology of the mask: philosophical-anthropological analysis

The object of research is the mask as a sociocultural phenomenon. The aim – to conduct holistic philosophic-anthropological analysis of the mask in order to reveal cultural sense of sociocultural phenomenon of the mask and to define the variety of its cultural manifestations. The methods – philosophical and anthropological analysis of culture, the methods of interdisciplinary comporativistics through combination of cultural-historical analysis with methodological strategies of modern philosophic anthropology. The theoretical results of the thesis and its novelty. This is the first attempt of complex studying of mask; main manifestations of the phenomenon in culture are analysed; its philosophical-anthropological analysis is conducted. We suggest the conception of mask as a cultural form of man’s being which is connected with aesthetisation and theatralization of social life. The practical significance of the thesis in using theoretical maxims and conclusions founded in the thesis as a factoligical andtheoretical basis in working out specialized courses on philosophical anthropology, philosophy of culture, culturological and social courses.
