Essay

For the first time in the Ukrainian political sci-ence the thesis presents a versatile research of the Canadian Multiculturalism peculiarities in the context of the global transformational processes. It should be mentioned that Canada is the intel-lectual home of the notion of "multicultural citizen-ship". Moreover, both theoretical and practical treatments of multiculturalism draw heavily upon the Canadian example, using the lessons derived from observing the case to infer the nature and general health of multiculturalism. However, the thesis pre-supposes that the Canada's multicul-tural policy is to create a nation that emphasizes the importance and rights of cultural groups; united by a common creation of an office of multi-culturalism in 1971. The ethnic and cultural diversity of Canada's population is a major advantage of globalization processes. It should be emphasized that, the Ca-nadian Government is working with provincial and territorial governments, the private and voluntary sectors and individual Canadians to help strengthen institutions, build safer and more sup-portive communities and reinforce shared values.
