Object of the study: H.pylori associated chronic atrophic gas-tritis accompanied by atherosclerosis. Purpose of the study: To work out a method of pathogenetically substantiated therapy of hyperhomocysteinemia in patients with chronic atrophic gastritis accompanied by atherosclerosis based on the study of the clinical picture, endoscopic, ultrasonographic, biochemical, immunoemzyme, morphological and histological findings. Methods of the investigation: Clinical, laboratory, biochemical, immunoenzyme, instrumental, statistical methods. Theoretical and practical results: The performed research ex-pands the existing ideas about the course of Helicobacter pylori associated chronic atrophic gastritis accompanied by atherosclerosis. It was proven that CAD negatively influenced the course of chronic atrophic gastritis, namely manifests by peculiarities of clinical, morphological changes, indices of metabolism of homocystein and lipids, the state of common carotid vessels. Association between the manifestations of biochemical blood parameters, ultrasonographic parameters of common carotid arteries and degree of atrophy and infection with Helicobacter pylori of the gastric mucosa, clinical variant of CAD was revealed. A pathogenetically substantiated method of treatment of hyperhomocysteinemia in patients with Helicobacter pylori associated chronic atrophic gastritis accompanied by atherosclerosis was worked out and tested. Novelty: The degree of blood homocystein changes in assessment of the clinical picture, main parameters of lipid metabolism, histological and morphological state of gastric mucosa, ultrasonography parameters of common carotid arteries and heart in patients with H.pylori-associated chronic atrophic gastritis against a background of CAD was determined. The necessity of anti-helicobacter therapy in treatment of hyperhomocysteinemia in patients with H.-associated chronic atrophic gastritis accompanied by atherosclerosis was substantiated pathogenetically. Degree of introduction: The findings of theresearch were introduced to the work of Kharkiv Regional Clinical Hospital, Regional Specialized Hospital of Radiation Protection of Population, Institute of Therapy named after L.T. Malaya, Regional Hospital for War Invalids. Sphere of application: medicine, internal diseases.
