Bandura T. Conception of national character in artistic interpretation of Ivan Franko (based on poetry).

The object is Ivan Franko's poetic works. The aims are to define of specificity of the art - aesthetic conception of national character in Ivan Franko's lyrics and to study of its pithy factors (social and personal), to detect the psychologist of their expression. The methods are cultural - historical, psychoanalytical and typological. The paper deals with the problem of national character in Ivan Franko's poetic works and focuses on moral - etnical, existential and philosophical layers of Ukrainians' existence. Features of the Ukrainian national character and its manifestation were determined, taking info account the influence of national history, philosophy, people's outlook, mentality, consciousness on the formation of the wrіter's aesthetic position. The formation of the artistic conceptuality of works of art and the characters' spiritual self - expression are analyzed based on this premise, the stylistic system of lyrical works is defined, the peculiarities of its psychological character are exalored. In the process of theanalytical - synthetic analysis of creative activity witkin the literary context of the end of the 19th - the beginning of the 20th century Ivan Franko's role in the spiritual life of the Ukrainian nation and mankind is defined.
