The author of the thesis studies Ukrainian phraseological word-combinations with colouring component that forms figurative and semantic meaning of the integral unity or terminologically composed structure. Specific features of phrasal derivation are considered in the work. The author proves that phraseological units denoting colour provide national specification of the Ukrainian language and are thought to be definite units of phraseological system with its semantic, grammatic, structural and functional peculiarities.
