Essay

The object - morphological and functional changes in rat erythrocytes under normal and diabetic state. The aim: approaches to correction of metabolic disorders leading to occurence and development of diabetic complications. Methods of studies: biochemical, absorption spectroscopy, scanning electronic microscopy, cytologic, statistical. It was revealed the mechanism of anemia development under type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM) at cellular level. It was shown that activity of inducible nitric oxide-synthase (iNOS) significant increased under experimental DM. It was found that aminoguanidine, the iNOS selective inhibitor, has an influence on the production and degradation of NO depot and oxygen-transporting function of blood facilitating of oxyhemoglobin dissociation what is a positive corrective factor under hypoxia. Polymorphism in rat erythrocyte population in control and under DM on the background of NOS substrate and inhibitor tretment was investigated by scanning electronic microscopy. Aminoguanidine isproposed to use for a search of new drugs for treatment and prevention of vascular complications under type 1 DM. Field of application: cell biology and medicine.
