Terziyskiy M. Retrospective assessment of combined methods of treatment in site-spread and generalized renal cancer

The work is designed to substantiate scientifically the conceptual model of tactics on managing the patients with locally spread and metastatic cancer of a kidney. The studies are based on reviewing the long-term results of treatment of 234 patients with the verified diagnosis between 1995-2004 at the Mykolaiv City Hospital N 3. The patients were divided into six groups: patients who received the combined treatment with postoperative radioactive immunochemical therapy, the autovaccination, the extracorporeal detoxication and also only the symptomatic therapy during the active follow-up. The peculiarities related to the incidence of tumor progression, the development of recurrences, lethality and the three year survival were defined. There was shown the dependence between the criteria of evaluation and the type of aid, the operative approach, the general state of patients and the presence in them of the primary-plural malignant neoplasms, the outspread of metastases, the stage and categories of tumors.Based upon the detailed analysis of treatment, there was elaborated the conceptual model which included three blocks: diagnostic, treating and dispensary supervisions. The use of the model promotes the early diagnosis, the choice of rational methods of treatment, the adequate individual and timely and fully performed examination of patients during dispensary supervision.
