Voloshchenko O. Legality of monastic landownership in the Left Bank Ukraine (the middle of seventeenth - the last quarter of the eighteenth cennury)

The dissertation represents the complex research of the landowner rights of the monasteries in the autonomy Hetmanate. While making research a significant amount of original texts of laws and another original documents and materials were analyzed. The author pays attention to the questions of the combination of church law and civil imperial and Ukrainian autonomous laws for monasteries as landowners, the contents of legislative acts which restricted monasteries in their owner rights and contents of acts that restricted the monastery as an owner: a) the cases when monasteries had the right for mortgaging or alienation of land; b) cases that provided monasteries with the right for ownership without the right of using or alienation (the mortaine). Also the author covers the government work on limitization of obtaining lands for monasteries.
