The given dissertation is the first to conduct the system investigation of the reception of a myth in Russian Preromantic poetry. The classification of structural-semantic models of mastering a myth that reflects the specificity of Preromantic mythcreation is suggested. The transformation of the mythologems has been traced on the levels of the motive complex, image-symbolical embodiment and genre-stylistic modifications. Key words: Preromanticism, myth, reception, motive, artistic consciousness, transitivity, mythologem, mythcreation.
