Essay

Dissertation deals with chronic ischemic heart disease (IHD) and concomitant hypertension in mountain residents of Transcarpathia. It's been established lower rates of cardiovascular morbidity and higher rates of in mountain zone of Transcarpathia. Lower levels of total serum cholesterol, as well as higher values of left ventricular volumes and mass were shown in highlanders. Rationale for beta-blocker bisoporlol to the medical regimen in former patients was provided.
