Grinko Y. The memoir works of I.S. Turgenev

Object-the book "Literary and worldly reminiscences", essays, articles and letters by Turgenev, which contain the memories about people and events kept in Turgenev's mind. It also goes about his creative writing and its reception by criticism and readership. Subject-the originality of Turgenev's memoir works, the specific features of his memoir writing, the reflection of the key points charactarising civic literary and aesthetic attitudes of the writer. Objective-to make complex analyses of Turgenev's memoir writings in oder to reveal significant features and originalaty of these works. Methods - discriptive, biographical, structural, social-genetic, cultural-historical, comparative-typological and the method of holistic analyses. Novelty - for the first time in the history of Turgenev studies there was presented the complex analyses of the writer's memoirs in all its elements; the dissertation presents the most comprehensive studies of Turgenev's book "Literary and worldly reminiscences"; also for thefirst time the majority of the considered works and letters of Turgenev became the object of special attention. Results -the material of the research can be used for further studies in the history of memoir writing, in particular in memoir works of russian writers; the results of the dissertation can also be used in the course of the literature of the XIX century, in prepairing lectures and seminars, in writing graduation papers at colleges and universities and for studing Turgenev's biography and creative writings in secondary schools, humanitarian lyceums and gymnasiums; field-russian literature.
