Gorobets T. Socio-perceptive distortions are the epiphenomenon of psychological defence.

The dissertation is devoted to researching the phenomenon of socio-perceptive distortions as the epiphenomenon of psychological defence. This thesis represents the theoretical approaches to the problem of distortion of perception process, reveals the dependence of this phenomenon from the actions of psychological defence system in the context of psychodynamic theory. Within the framework of the paper the psychological substance of the process of socio-perceptive distortions and their deep psychological essence were revealed. The phenomenon mentioned above is determined by both external (social) factors and deep mechanisms of the psyche. It was proved that socio-perceptive distortions are the consequence of subject's personal problem (self- contradiction) which is reflected in such external manifestations as ignoring another person, idealizing "I" proper, psychological impotence, psychological death etc. The thesis defines the presuppositions for appearance of socio-perceptive distortions, proves theirconnection with the psychological defence system, object relations, conditional and infantile values of the subject. The research has proved the necessity of deep psychological correction of socio-perceptive distortions, successful results of ASPE method for future psychologists. There are recommendations for practical psychologists to prevent destructing their professional activity.
