Essay

This thesis is dedicated to the study of varieties of Ukrainian and foreign sorts and hybrids and to substantiation of the technological process of cucumber growing on vertical trellis in the Forest-Steppe zone of Ukraine under drop irrigation. For the conditions of the Forrest-Steppe zone of Ukraine under drop irrigation by plants growing on vertical trellis Krispina F1, Samorodok F1, Ajax F1 hybrids and Dzherelo sort are the best yielding with of good-grade quality of fruits. The advantage of sowing term 25 April was proved. The yield increased at early sowing comparing to term of sowing 5 May by 4,8-11,8 t/ha. It is defined, that the plant density of 71,4 thousand plants per/ha at scheme 140x10 cm was optimal. Upon the average at such scheme cucumber yield made up 45,9 t/ha. It is proved, that the most efficient mulching material was black plastic film, that made favorable temperature conditions in soil, consequently plants come into the phase of fruit bearing earlier and provided with better earlyand total harvest. The main results of the investigations were tested in real-field conditions and are recommended for using in the egg-plant production.
