Economic development. The analysis of theories and models of the accelerated development and formation on this basis of optimal strategy of development of Ukraine. The understanding of the social and economic nature of import substitution and export promotion models is profound, that has created opportunities to establish their borders, advantages and lacks. The model of the accelerated development is offered, which has as nucleus the mechanical engineering oriented on capacious foreign markets. The offers on support of export of mechanical engineering production that favour toimprovement of export structure of Ukraine, and also positions concerning to directions of an investment policy for entering the foreign markets are introduced.
