Chornen'ka N. Recreational potential of the Gorgany geosystems.

This dissertation deals with the problem of determination of recreational potential of natural territorial systems of the Gorgany (Ukrainian Carpathian mountains). This research work lies on the analysis of tourist-cognitive and on-site rehabilitation use of the territory. The work proposes application of mathematical constructions for determination of both, components and recreational potential of mountainous territories in general. The landscape differentiation of the Gorgany on the level of specific areas has been used for spatial interpretation of the data of fieldwork. The work presents the elaborated methods of evaluation of the components of recreational potential of mountainous territories and substantiates the possibility of application of the elaborated methods for evaluation of effectiveness of recreational use of the Gorgany territory, for elaboration of measures to optimize the Gorgany geosystems under the conditions of intensive recreational use. Cartographic presentation of the territoryin question has been made using the main evaluated components of the recreational potential. The results of this dissertation study represent a system reflection of the existing recreational situation in the Gorgany and the foundation for scientifically substantiated plans for further use of the territory.
