Dissertation focuses on theoretical and practical problems of law and religion correlations. The author gives a new interpretation of the notions of law and religion. Based on these notions common and specific characteristics of law and religions are proposed. Forms of cooperation of law and religions, controversy between legal and religious rules are analyzed in the course of social regulation. A special approach is given to the religious impact on development and adoption of legal regulations. The author proposes a new approach to the classification of legal systems on the criteria of religious impact on their development and functioning. Fundamental principals of relations between church institutions and state in Ukraine are proclaimed. These principals are aimed on optimization of legal regulations of religious relations
