Essay

Object of investigations - acarosis in dogs and cats, mites Sarcoptes, Notoedres, Otodectes, Demodex. The purpose - study of dog and cat acarosis spread, perfection of the method of diagnostics and development of new preparation for treatment of small domestic animals diseased with acarosis. Methods of investigation - clinical, parasitologic, hematologic, biochemical, bacteriological, toxicological, statistical. Theoretical and practical results: methodical recommendations "Laboratory diagnostics of sarcophagous animals' parasitic diseases". Preparation for treatment of demodecosis and sarcoptosis of small domestic animals "Nuricide". Novelty: New data concerning dog and cat acarosis spread in Kharkiv region, taking into consideration specific composition of agents, seasonality of outbreaks, age, breed and sexual susceptibility has been obtained. For the first time there was proposed improved method of acarosis diagnostics using liquid paraffin and dimethyl sulfoxide with the purpose of specific determination of acariform mites. There was proved high complex therapeutic effectiveness of the new preparation "Nuricide" at treatment of small domestic animals, diseased with acarosis with the course complicated by conditionally pathogenic microflora. Level of introduction: Normative documentation for the preparation for treatment of small domestic animals' sarcoptosis and demodecosis "Nuricide" (TU U 24.4-00497087-027:2005) was registered by the State Consumer Standard of Ukraine №100/010571 of April, 25, 2006. Methodical recommendations were confirmed by Scientific-and Methodical Council of the State Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine (protocol № 4 of December, 23, 2004).
