Danylets' A. Diagnostics and surgical treatment of popliteal artery aneurysm

The aim of the thesis is to study diagnostics and popliteal artery aneurysm surgery and its scientific background. The study is grounded on the results of the multipurpose examinations and treatment of 72 patients with popliteal artery aneurysm, 49 - were operated on, and 23 - without surgery treatment. The possibilities of instrumental examinations were studied and diagnostics algorithm developed. The indications for different interventions performance depending on the aneurysm sizes and distal blood circulation state were determined. Reasons of postoperative complications and factors leading to them were analyzed, prophylactic measures were determined. The use of proposed approach helped to decrease of amputations frequency, postoperative complications and to improve quality of patients life.
