In the dissertation is exposed the maintenance and the structure of concept "reading from the letter of musical notation"; analyzed the state and problems of forming the skills in reading from the letter of choral scores for the students of higher educational establishments of culture and arts; specified criteria and set the levels of the formed skills in reading from the letter of choral scores for the students that are in the process of mastering the educational course of "Reading the choral scores"; it is also developed, scientifically grounded and experimentally tested the method of forming the skills in reading from the letter of choral scores s for the students of higher educational establishments; and we have also developed the methodical recommendations for the teachers of professional disciplines.
