Essay

Object - reactions of heterodyne synthesis, alkylation, acylation, recyclization and "domino"-reactions in synthesis of polycyclic fused systems based on 4-thiazolidones; aim - synthesis of novel polycyclic fused systems based on 4-thiazolidones and search of highly active compounds with antitumor, antioxidant, antihypoxic, antimycobacterial, anticonvulsant and antiviral actions as prototypes of innovative drugs; methods - organic synthesis, spectral analysis methods (NMR-, mass-,chromass-spectroscopies), X-Ray analysis, elemental analysis, traditional and high-throughput pharmacological screening, docking, QSAR-analysis; novelty - the effective new methods of synthesis and chemical modification for polycyclic fused systems based on 4-thiazolidones have been worked out, biological activity of synthesized compounds have been studied and "structure-activity" correlations have been carried out; the outcomes - the row of new perspective highly-active compounds, which possess antitumor, antioxidant, antihypoxic, antimycobacterial, anticonvulsant and antiviral activities has been identified; based on compounds' lipophilicity studies, COMPARE-analysis, docking and QSAR-analysis recommendations for rational design of potential antitumor agents have been proposed; there are introduced into scientific and educational process of National Pharmaceutical University and the program of course "Computer technologies in pharmacy" of Danylo Halytsky LNMU; area - pharmacy.
