The dissertation is dedicated to the enhancement of efficacy in the diagnosis of prostate cancer (PC) with the use of magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) and spectroscopy. For this, 103 patients underwent deep examination: 84 of them had prostate diseases and 19 composed a reference group. By the previous examination, the latter had no diseases of urogenital system, including prostatic diseases, and their clinical outcomes were used as "conditioned" normal readings of MRT and spectroscopy "uncompromised" with PC. The basic group (84 men) consisted of patients with the following clinical diagnosis: PC (47 men), benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) - 33 and chronic prostates (CP) - 4 men. The comparative analysis of data after complex examination ( complaints, anamnesis, complete and biochemical blood counts, PSA count, digital rectal examination, excretory urography, ultrasonography, CT, roentgenography of chest organs, lumbar spine and pelvic bones) the MRT and spectroscopic data along with subsequentresults of histological investigations showed that the comatibilyty with the use of MRT and spectroscopy was 97.7% while without these methods it was within the limits 85.1% and 93% in the monitored groups and only yielded to the results of histological investigations. During investigations, there were defined the quantitative indicators by analyzing the spectrums of metabolites in normal and pathologically altered prostatic tissue that was taken as the basis of the algorithm proposed for differentiating diagnosis of prostate diseases. Putting it into practice allows to make accurate diagnosis, particularly at the early stages of a disease and, accordingly, to timely start the adequate treatment.
