Essay

A further development was given to definition of axial forces in deformation zone during cold Pilger rolling that provided a possibility to theoretically define a speed mode of rolling that guarantees minimal value of axial forces. Definition of axial forces is used for further improvement the quality of metal and extending pipe sizes. Mechanism for rolls' speed regulation is proposed. Polarizing-optical method is used for the first time for definition of stress and deformation in the cold-rolling mills. The results of the research have been given to Joint Stock Company "Dnipropetrovsk Works of precision pipes" for engineering application in cold Pilger rolling of thin-walled pipes production technology. The results of the research are utilized in the curriculum of the National metallurgical academy of Ukraine.
