The objects are the evaluative names in the Ukrainian language of the ХХ - beginning of the ХХІ century. The aims are the system analysis of evaluative names in the Ukrainian language of the ХХ - beginning of the ХХІ century. The methods are descriptive, component and contextual analyses, quantitative approach. The structure of the category of evaluation and the main types of its' classification are defined, as well as the difference between the notions of emotionally expressive and evaluatively marked vocabulary. The processes of word-formative categorization of evaluation are analyzed, the evaluative component of suffixation, preffixation, composition, jukstaposition and lexico-semantic way is defined. The structure of the lexico-semantic field of evaluative names and its' main and secondary components are examined. Synonymic, antonymic and hypero-hyponymic relations of evaluative names are described. The peculiarities of evaluative names' functions in the structure of fiction are defined, the contextual conditionality of an evaluative name is analyzed. Application sphere is the training courses.
