Tovkay O. Autotransplantation of thyroid tissue in early postoperative period of surgical treatment of bilateral multinodular goiter

Thesis is devoted to study and elaboration of the surgical cure of multinodular goiter with further autotransplantation of thyroid tissue after total thyroidectomy for indemnity (compensation) postoperative hypothyroidism.The peculiarities of the surgical treatment of 724 patients with preoperative diagnosis multinodular goiter were estimated retrospectively (control group 1). 118 patients were examinated by questionnaire design and impartial laboratory and instrumental checkup (control group 2). The task group contained 57 patients patients after total thyroidectomy with further autotransplantation of cryopreserved fragments of thyroid tissue in early (5-8 days) postoperative period in case of benigne pathology. A new way of treating postoperative hypothyroidism which includes thyroidectomy and autotransplantation of thyroid tissue in early postoperative period is developed. The hormone levels of the research are analyzed, the analysis of radionuclide research is made.It is ascertained that autotransplantation of thyroid tissue in early postoperative period after thyroidectomy concerning multinodular goiter improves status of patient greatly and helps to achieve long term clinical effect that leads to euthyroid condition.
