Object: process of management by the competitiveness of higher institution. Aim: development of conceptual bases and scientific ground of methodological approaches and practical recommendations on the management by the competitiveness of higher institution on the basis of benchmarking. Methods: dialectical, abstract-logical, system historical analysis, comparison, scientific classification and systematization, reason-investigational analysis, methods and ways of economic and strategic analysis, the SERVQUAL method. Results: conceptual government bases grounded by the competitiveness of higher institutions are grounded on the basis of benchmarking. Novelty: the conception of management by the competitiveness of higher educational establishments on bases of benchmarking is made, the model of the organizational-economic providing of implementation of benchmarking is developed, determination of competitiveness of higher institution is improved, classification of types of competitiveness of higher institution is improved, approach to the balanced evaluation of market, financial-economic and social effectiveness of benchmarking is improved.
