The dissertation has grounded the systemic analysis of Roman Ivanychuk's historical prose, based on the use of elements of scholarly and publicistic styles, as well as has proven the relevance and methods of implementing these elements in the texts under study and revealed their functions in various speech situations. Elements of scholarly style (terms) and publicistic style (social and political vocabulary) as well as peculiar syntactical constructions have been subject to lexicosemantic analysis. Particular emphasis has been placed on the use of terms in stylistic devices (similes and metaphors).
