Hontaruk L. Semantic Structure of Borrowings as a Source of Historical-Lexicological Investigations ( in Context of D. Nalyvayko"s Works and Works of the XI c. - the First Half of the XVII c.).

The thesis traces the semantic process in the sphere of borrowings in the Ukrainian language of the XVI c. - the first half of the XVII c. and describes the circumstances, reasons and consequences of these processes. The dissertation investigates the context for the Polish borrowings in the Ukrainian language of that period and the directions of enlarging the semantic structure of the Polish borrowings, which were included into the lexicon of the Ukrainian language during the XIV c. - the first half of the XVII c. The thesis presents the comparative characteristics of the Polish and Church-Slavonic words in the language of the XVI c. - the first half of the XVII c. The dissertation deals with the role of D. Nalyvayko in the process of forming the Ukrainian written language of that period, ideas concerning the time of writing and authorship of the Church-Slavonic part of the analyzed words.
