The thesis is devoted to the research of the legal nature, order of formation, functions, principals, authority, forms and methods of activity the population self-organization bodies. On the theoretical level it is determined the characteristic features of the population self-organization bodies, it is given the author definition of the “the population self-organization bodies” conception and it is also determined their role in the self-organization realization and correlation of these bodies legal status with the associations of the tenement house proprietors and with the associations of the citizens, the responsibility and the guarantees of the activity of these bodies. A theoretical model of their activity has been developed using such categories as: principals, tasks, functions, authority, forms and methods of activity.The historically-international experience of functioning of the population self-organization bodies has been analyzed. Special attention has been given to the ways of improvement ofthe population self-organization bodies formation and activity in Ukraine, in connection with the Standard (Model) Statute of concerning bodies has been worked out by the author.At the dissertation has been formulated the conceptual clauses, the new conclusions and proposals of the problems being under investigations has been grounded.
