Dissertation is devoted to the issues under study of regional peculiarities of microelement selenium abundance in the environment and human organism, its impact on health indices of population of Dnipropetrovsk region. As a result of the carried out investigations there were established spatial-temporal peculiarities of selenium abundance in the system "environment-human organism" and there was given a complex assessment of its content in different objects of the environment, in the organism of city and rural inhabitants of industrially developed region, its dependence from concentration of heavy metals.
