Essay

The object of research – homogeneous elastic wedge-shaped bodies: curved bar, truncated elastic wedge, sector; the subject of research – stress distributions in wedge-shaped bodies induced by force and kinematical loadings: in the near field close to the boundary and about corner points, their asymptotical behavior in the far field in the infinite bodies; purpose of research ? to obtain analytical solutions based on two methods, to correlate them, to estimate approximate theories and to clarify vague points; method of research: as basic, is applied the method of superposition, infini-te systems are examined, is determined equivalent conversion to eigenfunction expansions, is derived the estimation of approximate theories on bending of curved bars, recommendations on applying both types’ solution are stated, is determined considerable violate-on of Saint-Venant’s principle for postcritical wedge angles and is indicated the way to overcome this divergence
