Abdula Y. Process of establishment of Sloboganshina's region oikonymic system

A complex research of oikonymy of Harkiv region is done in the dissertation. The names of all the populated sites and objects having the status of a settlement (5221 oikonyms), fixed during the XI - XXI centuries in the reference books, maps etc. are investigated. The process of analysing the oikonymic material of Harkiv region is based no the derivation principle. Oikonyms, based both on proper and common names, are analysed according to their derivational types. The dominant derivational models of the investigated territories are defined. The peculiarities of their formation are faund. Simultaneously, the ties of the above mentioned nominations with the derivational bases of the names of settlements aer describet. The relations of motivation which are created between the denotate and oikonym at nominating are shown. The influence of the extralingvistic factors on the process of the formation of the oikonymic system of Harkiv region is defined. The supplement comprises a vocabulary of regional oikonyms, which gives historical and etymological information about the settlements and their derivational etymons.
