The dissertation research is devoted to the investigation of the structure of chronicle sagas about Christening of Rus, textual and comparative analysis of the chronicles about apostle Andriy, christening of Olga, baptizing of Prince Volodymyr and performing of christening of Kyivers in the literature of Kyivan Rus, Polish historiography of 15 - 16 centuries and Ukrainian Baroque prose. Key words: literary history, literary interpretation, historiographic prose, hagiography, Baroque features, annalistic canon, legend, hermeneutics.
