Essay

The thesis deal with the actual problem of modern sociolinguistics, i.e. the description of functioning of jargon vocabulary in the language of contemporary Ukrainian mass media as a nominative-expressive means. Texts of different topics, ideology and social character have been investigated as the material of the study. Functional peculiarities of jargon vocabulary in mass media discourse are important due to its immense use in newspaper and magazine articles, on the one hand, and the lack of the research of such kind, on the other.
