Essay

The data of experimental research of the morphological features of growth, structure and regeneration of the femur rat under the influence of exogenous hydrocortisone were pre-sented in this thesis. It was found out that glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis at 3 and 6 month old rats led to the de-layed longitudinal growth of femur, but decreased transversal growth of femur was shown at 3 month old rats only. This features were caused by periosteal end enchondral osteogene-sis inhibition. It was proved that bone tissue destruction was realized by osteocyte osteolysis and sinuses. The intensity of the bone destructive changes increased with extension of hor-mone dose at animals which were at the stage of active skeleton growth especially. It was identified that a long-term introduction of hydrocortisone (0.5 and 5 mg) reduced osteo-repair process in the rat femur defects. Maximum demonstra-tion was seen in the 3month old animals. The ratio of the cells participating in bone repair was broken.. Processesof regen-erate mineralization and remodeling were slowed down at the late stages of repair osteogenesis.
