Essay

The thesis proposes the systems analysis of the development of the French surrealism and its reception in Ukraine, the aspects of linguistic, linguistic-rhetorical, communicative, cultural and translating competence of the French and Ukrainian authors are researched. The connection is retraced not only on verge of cultures (Ukrainian and French) but also between the different types of art (literature and painting). On the intersemiotics are based G.Apollinaire's pastiches ("The response of Zaporozhian Cossacks to the Turkish sultan"), works by B.Cendrars, L.Aragon, A.Breton and others. The counter process (the reception of French surrealism in Ukraine) is realized in translations of Taras Schevchenco's poetry by L.Aragon, E.Guillevic, Sh.Stern and Zh.Lafon, in the paraphrases (paraphrases by O.Zuyevsky), pastiches and also in the examples of west-ukrainian poetry in the first decades of the the XXth century (Zinoviy Berezhan, V.Khmeluk, B.-I.Antonych). In the thesis are the translationsof G.Apollinaire's, J.Prevert's and H.Michaux's poetry in the authorship of O.Zuyevsky, M.Lukash, A.Astafiev, M.Kotzubinska considered. The ability of translaitors to give the appraisal to the communicative situation, to choose correctly verbal and inverbal tools, codes and linguistic strategies is particularly accentuated. The influence of the French surrealism has directly marked the intuitionism of the New-York group and the surrealistic visions of the Kyiv school.
