Essay

The dissertation deals with the study of efficiency of symbiotic preparation Biftop and hypolipidemic drug Epadol in the treatment of steatogepatosis in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2. On the basis of investigation of 123 patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 it has been established that steatogepatosis development is connected with the duration of diabetes mellitus, the degree of abdominal obesity since free fatty acids production increases in the result of intensified lipolysis of visceral fat that promotes the development of lipotoxicity and dyslipidaemia. The trustworthy link has been revealed between activation of lipid peroxidation processes and disturbances of fat and carbohydrate metabolism. In the result of progressive insulin resistance at the hepatic level the course of basic disease gets worse. The level of leptin, multifunctional hormone of the adipose tissue, has been established to depend on the content of free fatty acids and cholesterol low density lipoproteins that is the main reason of regulation disorders of lipid metabolism and promotes the development of liver steatogepatosis. In addition, the patients with the marked abdominal obesity have been found to have a higher level of cortisol in the blood serum which intensifies the process of process of lipolysis and has mediated influence of the disturbance of functional changes of the liver in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2. The expediency of using basic therapy including symbiotic (biftop) and omega – 3 polysaturated fatty acids (epadol) has been proved for the complex therapy of patients suffering from diabetes mellitus type 2 with steatogepatosis for better compensation of carbohydrate and fat metabolism.
