Kobzar N. Foreign derivational elements in Ukrainian biology ter-minology

Research purpose: to carry out a multi-aspect analysis and define derivation potential of the foreign pre- and postposition morphological elements of the modern Ukrainian biology terminology. Research methods: analytical-and-descriptive, quantitative, definition analysis, component analysis. Results, novelty : some general linguistic notions are specified, the notion of «affixoid word-formation means» is im-plemented, morphological types of biology terms formed by foreign derivators are classified as to their productivity, further development of morphological activity of the foreign formants comprised by the biology terms is forecast. Range of usаge: feld of application: lection and seminar courses in morphemics and word-formation of the modern Ukrainian literature language, special courses and seminars devoted to the study of borrowings at various language levels, terminology study, special courses for specialists in biology, lexicography (at compilation of terminology and morpheme vocabularies).
