The given dissertation is the first to study the genre modifications of memoirs autobiographical prose, to investigate the reasons of actualization of this genre in the Russian literature of the XX century. The conceptions of literature studies and points of view on the genre nature of memoirs autobiographical prose are analyzed, and the contemporary approaches to its investigation are determined.
