Essay

Pecularities of magnetic characteristics of Hg1-xMnxTe1-zSz crystals are stipulated by clusters of multiple type and size where exchange direct and indirect interaction (stipulated by 3d-elements of Mn and Fe in crystals of atoms) take place and changes in cluster crystal subsystem as a result of thermal treatment. Increase in contents or thermal treatment in Hg1-xMnxTe1-zSz sulfur vapors leads to the rise electronic contribution into kinetic coefficients and to the rise in thermoelectric figure of merit. Gigantic relative magnetoresistance in Hg1-х-уMnхFeуTe is stipulated by spin polarization and the following scaterring of electrons on Mn-Te-Mn-Te clusters and Hg1-xMnxTe1-zSz is observed with compounds similar to the "zero-bandgap semiconductor - usual semiconductor" junction. Band parameters gained from kinetic and optic investigation (on the basis of the latter direct interband optic junctions were revealed) coordinate which each other well. This enabled us to determine the compounds with the helpof which "zero-bandgap semiconductor - usual semiconductor" junction take place in crystals under study and to draw the chart of Hg1-x-yMnxFeyTe band structure.
