This dissertational research is devoted to peculiarities of forming professional identity of students at a grade level in a pedagogical higher educational institution. It is established, that positive professional identity is the leading precondition of professional success of the teacher, it promotes the effective resolution of professional crises and acts as the essential factor of the prevention of professional combustion. It is revealed, that professional identity is important factor in shaping the identity, the dissertation tests influence of the leading factors of social identity that comes to light aspects, structural components of professional identity. The generated positive social identity influences due registration of an image of the future professional work, defines prospects of professional self-realization, brings satisfaction with the professional work as a whole. It is proved, that components of pedagogical professional identity are the positive attitude to self, synthetic reflection,generated readiness for professional - pedagogical self-development, presence of personal dispositions (kindness, conscientiousness, self-confidence, self-sufficiency, flexibility, non-frustration). The basic types of professional identity of teachers are defined as: diffusional; academic - normative; professional-creative.
