In the thesis there was executed the complex analysis of functioning and prognostication of the prospects of the party system of Russia developing in the context of transformation its political system in the beginning of the 21st century. There were defined and substantiated the fundamental stages of formation, development and transformation of Russian party system and there were detected the characteristic features of the modern party system of Russia on basis of the use of the comparative methods of investigation.
