The thesis is aimed at scientific analyzing of cooperation between Ukraine and Hungary in ethnopolitical sphere. The scientific analysis of the role and position of Ukraine in the system of eastern policy of Hungary at the modern stage is carried out in complex and systematically, as well the role of ethnopolitical factors in the policy of right-liberal and left-liberal Hungarian governments towards Ukraine is defined in the thesis. Main ethnopolitical factors of formation and mechanisms of implementation of foreign policy course of the Hungarian Republic towards Ukraine as well as evolution of forms, kinds and main structural elements of Hungarian-Ukrainian interstate relationships at the modern stage are analyzed.Analytical chapters of the thesis are devoted to the investigation of impact of systemic social, political and economic changes in Hungary on the foreign policy of the country; to the analysis of the support system of foreign representatives of the same nationality in Hungary and Ukraine; aswell as comparative analysis of the state ethnonational policy in Hungary and Ukraine is carried out. It is justified that the policy of Hungary towards Ukraine after expansion of the European Union in 2004 and 2007 as well as transformation of Ukrainian-Hungarian border into constituent part of new eastern border of the EU continues to be based on three main priorities of the Hungarian foreign policy: All-European and Euro-Atlantic integration; neighbouring relationships; and concern about the Hungarian national minority abroad. These foreign policy priorities of Hungary are also defined for long-term period, i.e. till 2020, in new conceptual document of Hungary "Strategy of Foreign Affairs of Hungary".
